Introduction

Biotechnology and bioinformatics are one of the most sought after career options chosen by students in the current decade in India and worldwide. The reasons being the unlimited potential for career development and scope for innovation offered by these disciplines. However a clear understanding of the subject, its scope, career options and most importantly the prerequisite skills required in making a successful career in these disciplines is still lacking among the students and professionals.

Bioexcellence  has therefore started the Biotechnology Education Awareness Initiative as a part of its conscious effort to reach out to the biotechnology community and disseminate the required information and knowledge.

 Program Details

Biotechnology Education Awareness Initiative brings together the expertise, skills, knowledge and experience of eminent biotechnology professionals who will address the biotechnology students and professionals to bridge the missing gaps in their career path. The program is structured as one day interactive seminar to be held in major cities of India.  The program aims to bring together students, research scholars, faculty members, job seekers and parents to learn the know-how and understand the intricacies of the subject.

The program contents are as follows.

Introduction to biotechnology and bioinformatics
Introduction to biotechnology research, academia and industry in India
Spectrum of biotechnology applications
Educational and career opportunities in biotechnology and bioinformatics (India and Overseas)
Roadmap to a successful career in biotechnology and allied sciences (industry, academia and research)
Skills development for entrance exam preparations for biotechnology courses.
Skill development for scientific attitude in research career
Case studies and question open discussion.

Program Delivery Model

The event will comprise of lectures, case studies and discussions. Eminent faculty from industry and academia will interact with the participants.

Program Benefits

The workshop is designed to address the existing knowledge gaps in biotechnology career pipeline. Participants will gain an insight to understand and explore career opportunities in the field. The workshop will prove as an eye opener and help students and participants to  plan  future and career in a better way.

Program Fees

A nominal fee of Rs 300  will be charged per participant. Each participant will receive a kit including lecture note, case studies and other reading material. Participants will be provided tea, snacks and lunch.
